Art Activity - Alaska Day - Northern Lights
Today's activity is celebrating Alaska just in time for Alaska Day, which is celebrated on 10/18/16. The theme for this project is the Northern Lights. This is a fun and simple activity that your students can do with moderate to no assistances depending on the learners skill level. See how to make this craft project below.
Materials: Black poster board, construction paper (green, blue and yellow), scissors and glue
1. Fold black card stock, poster board or construction paper in half
2. Stack 3 sheets of construction paper. I chose green, yellow and blue
3. Cut the stacked construction paper into strips a 1/4" thick
4. Cut the strips into 1/2" thick squares
5. Glue lines up the construction paper
6 Take the squares and sprinkle them onto the glue, then press down
7. Continue step 6 across the sheet of paper
8. Take the glue and make a waved line across the bottom of the lines made with the colored squares
9. Choose one colored square and glue the squares on the waved line
10. Let your project dry!
